GridPath RA Toolkit
Stemming from a collaboration between GridLab, Moment Energy Insights, and Blue Marble Analytics, the GridPathRA Toolkit supports advanced resource adequacy analysis for the Western United States leveraging GridPath, an open-source power system modeling platform. This project focused on advancing the characterization of three phenomena that will be increasingly important for understanding RA in future power systems: weather-driven relationships between load and resource availability over large geographical areas; capabilities and constraints of energy limited resources; and transmission flows and regional coordination.

Moonshot 100% Clean Electricity Study
Collaborated with GridLab, Telos Energy, Energy Futures Group, Evolved Energy Research, UC San Diego, and Blue Marble Analytics on the Moonshot 100% Clean Electricity Study. The study identifies pathways to reliably achieve a 100% clean energy target across the Public Service Company of New Mexico system. Moment Energy Insights conducted resource adequacy analysis for the study leveraging GridPath.

EPRI’s Resource Adequacy for a Decarbonized Future Report
Partnered with Blue Marble Analytics to conduct the Western US Resource Adequacy Case Study, as part of EPRI’s Resource Adequacy for a Decarbonized Future Report. The study explored the resource adequacy implications of highly renewable resource portfolios across the Western US, drew insights across a range of resource adequacy metrics, explored tradeoffs in key resource adequacy model parameters, and presented novel methods for modeling very long duration energy storage in resource adequacy analyses.
